Start

Place your left hand and left knee on a flat bench with your right foot planted firmly on the floor. Grasp a dumbbell in your right hand with your palm facing the bench, and let it hang by your side.

Movement

Keeping your elbow close to your body, pull the dumbbell up until it almost touches your side. Feel a contraction in your upper back and then reverse direction, returning to the start position. Repeat with your left arm after performing the desired number of reps on your right.
